At the Ypsilanti District Library, our mission is to enrich life, stimulate intellectual curiosity, and foster literacy.

To help fulfill our mission, we offer two programs that encourage youth and families to read and learn together during out-of-school time. Sign up for an account to participate in either!

Summer Challenge
Every summer, readers of all ages can read, attend library programs, and complete challenges to earn badges that can be traded for chances to win prize baskets. Everyone who reads at least 6 books during the summer gets a prize.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Parents with children under 6 can sign up and track how many books their little ones listen to between birth and kindergarten. Can you log 1,000? The more words a young child hears, the easier it is to learn to read when school begins.

Create an online account, then log titles as you read or listen to books. Visit any YDL location to pick up prizes you earn.

Call 734-482-4110 x1340 for help registering or logging into your online account.

 On paper

Stop by any YDL location for the Summer Challenge log or 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten log.

Return the completed log to any YDL location to claim a prize!

Some rights reserved by their respective holders. Call us for more details.
