At the Ypsilanti District Library, our mission is to enrich life, stimulate intellectual curiosity, and foster literacy.

To help fulfill our mission, we offer programs that encourage everyone to read and learn together during out-of-school time. Click the tab above for the program of your choice!

Summer Challenge
Every summer, readers of all ages can read, learn at the library, and complete challenges in the community to earn digital badges that can be traded for chances to win prize baskets. Everyone who reads at least 6 books during the summer gets a prize. This year, find our online programs on YouTube and our events calendar.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Parents with children under 6 can sign up and track how many books their little ones listen to between birth and kindergarten. Can you read 1,000? The more words a young child hears, the easier it is to learn to read when school begins.
